Trapper 300 Bow Fitting
01.06.2017 at 22:52:48

Hi, I have recently bought "Carlyle Bay" Trapper 300.  Unfortunately she has suffered bow damage with the previous owner and requires an new bow anchor fitting as the original was lost.
Please can anyone advise if this is a standard part or is it a custom fabrication?
Any advice or information welcome.

Many Thanks,

Pete

standard bow fitting is a cast aluminium fitting that you won't be able to buy now. I would just have one fabricated in stainless if i had the choice. In fact i may even replace mine with a stainless fabrication in the future.

Hi Pete

I'm with Andy, the original will be unavailable and was hardly an example of excellent design.

I'd be inclined to have one fabricated from stainless, with good fair leads included and the option to stow a self launching anchor too.

Cheers

Pete - where does Carlyle Bay reside these days? I met the then owner about twenty five- thirty years ago when we were moored together in Yarmouth.
I recollect - perhaps incorrectly - the cabin headlining had been painted.
