Spinnaker halyard

I've just bought a trapper 300 the spinnaker Halyard exits the same slot in the mast as the Genoa halyard. This puts extra resistance  on The halyard when trying to haul the spinnaker. I was just wondering weather to set the spinnaker halyard up as externally of the mast. What is everybody else's setup.

My spinnaker halyard is external.  It can't share a sheave. The friction would be too great.

The mast on Star Trapper has four sheaves at the base: two genoa halyards, one spinnaker ditto, spi pole topping lift.
