TS240 KICKING STRAP
24.08.2017 at 14:50:38

Hi All,
Nautibuoy has a Holt lever on wire kicker which is nearing the end of its life.
System is quite powerful  but fixed length wire limits possibilities. ( eg scandalising - not that I have ever needed to!!!).
What set up do others use?
Cheers
Paul

Paul, Toucan has a simple 4-1 purchase with a 200mm wire strop at both the boom and the attachment on the mast step. The bottom turning block has a jammer, it has plenty of travel and is powerful enough. Maybe we need a gentle luff to adjust in a real blow. The jammer is a snatch block with the angle adjusted so the kicker can be adjusted when standing in the companionway. Hope this helps.

Thanks Brian.
Looks like 4:1 is fine. Will probably use via deck organiser and jammer on coach roof as current device.
