Year vs build number
16.05.2018 at 06:32:27

Hi all.
I am in negotiation to buy a T500. But after reading the history of the Trapper I became a little confused. I was wondering if there is a relationship between build number and year build.  For example: The plate on board stated Anstay Yachts build number 228, to which year build should that related?
Thanks, Wil

Hi. Give it another try.

I would like to know how you Trapper 500 owners have confirmed the year your boat was build.

Im am currently negotiation a T500 with hull number 228. The owner says it is a 1979 year build sailboat. When examining the boatlist it seems that 1979 year boats have higher hull numbers. Am I correct.
Thanks,
Wil (Netherlands)

If the 500 built by Anstey yachts in Poole it must be pre 1981 as the propuction moved to the Hamble in late 1981.

If you look at the list you can see that a number of 288 would be somewhere around 1975/76 vintage. (mine is 377 built 1977). Hope this helps.
