Skin fitting replacement
14.06.2018 at 13:13:09

My 501 is coming home for a refurb. I would like to replace all the skin fittings being 38 years old with new. I note they are flush with the hull. Any tips, photos etc on doing this would be appreciated. I will in due course start a thread on work done. Thanks in advance.

If these are the old plastic type, it may be easier to carefully cut off the outer ring of the fitting and push the remainder back inside the hull.
Metal hull fittings have a large nut on the inside of the hull which must be unscrewed and removed before pushing the complete fitting out of the hull.
Remember to remove all pipework before starting.
