Just a few questions!

Hi,

While my mast is down I'd like to re bed the chainplates including the backstay. Any advice would be appreciated. As per usual nothing is easily accessible!

My Volvo seal needs replacing and I'm considering the Radice equivalent which has a vent/pipe so you don't have to 'burp' the seal like the Volvo. Again opinions would be appreciated.

Lastly has anyone fitted a hatch to the cockpit sole to aid access to the rear of the engine, sterngland and seacocks? My mates Westerly Centaur has a great hatch.

That's it for now Wink

Cheers,

J

I had to move my backstay, the only way to take out the rear back stay was to cut out a bit of the back of the thingy pit. I fitted a hatch and its a good place to store ropes on a rack.

Weird, this message doesn't seem to accept "cockpit" and refers to it as a thingypit...!

I don't suppose you have a picture of your new backstay arrangement? As a matter of interest why did you move the backstay from its original position?
