Can't drain Beta 16 coolant

I need to flush out the coolant and I've undone the drain plug, removed the filler cap and nothing runs out. Any suggestions?

Had this from Beta Marine support:

Unfortunately the drain taps are prone to becoming blocked over time.
If prodding with wire hasnít dislodged the blockage, Iím afraid there isnít much you can do.
You can try taking the tap out, to clear it from the bend. Take care if doing this though, as the tap is only a soft casting and can break easily.
I would suggest syphoning out the water from the tank, using a piece of hose. Then taking the water pump pipe off, from the bottom of the water tank and draining from there.
There will be some coolant left in the engine, but you should get the majority out this way.
